An ekphrastic poem is a vivid poetic description of a scene, a work of art, or any other artistic genre, such as film, music, or dance. My ekphrastic poem is entitled “Blueness of an African Butterfly”, inspired by the work of New York Artist, JD Baez. The poem also reflects my disdain for the concept of “colorblindness” as it relates to racism.
